Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless

I have the Samsung Buds Pro before this but the materials they use gave me ear skin infections. Apparently quite a number of people get the same reactions from that product. Then I discovered this buds from Sennheiser and after using it for more than a week now, I must say this is loads better! Personal experience compared to Samsung Buds Pro since that's what i used before. + Sound Quality: Not much of a difference, both are stellar! seems in the current generation, companies can only do so much as of to improve sound quality of wireless earbuds + Bass is never overwhelming and i really enjoy acoustic music with this one though probably having to do with how they process vocal aspects. + Physical fit in the ear: obviously this one's better for me. I don't get the same eczema-like infection I get when I use the Samsung. + Price: I got both at almost the same price and I'd say it's well worth it. + Connectivity: Once connected to my phone I never experienced problems and very reliable. From the first time I got this I only experienced connectivity issue once. I just put the buds back in the case then took them out again and it was fine. + Battery life: I don't measure it as exactly as reviewers do, I just use it then get a feeling of how long it lasts. My ears get tired of it after a few hours about 4-6 hours of usage while in the office but the battery is still kicking so that's good for me. - Software: Their Android app probably needs a bit more UI improvement and user friendly functions. - Case: A bit bigger and bulkier than the Samsung although it never bothered me it's still worth to note. Also, top cover of the case is a bit wobbly, doesn't bother much as well but it is there. - ANC: Samsung Buds Pro gets this one. CX Plus True wireless is not bad in cancelling noise in common crowded places like coffee shops but when it comes to trains and subways, the Samsung gets the cake. Also I noticed an ANC problem when using the CX Plus in the bus, you get a very short cut in your music when the bus drives on a speed bumb or suddenly brakes. Probably have something to do with the vibration, I'm just a user so I don't know what that is though. So when commuting, it's probably better to make sure you use the proper rubber tips. - Touch Functionality: Always a subjective aspect, takes a bit of getting used to and susceptible to accidental touches. Sometimes or most of the times I still prefer physical buttons. Bottomline, as a common user that just likes to listen to podcasts while in the office and music while commuting, I'd say this buds from Sennheiser is more than worth it and for me very worth it to change from Samsung. No regrets and actually grateful that I discovered this one.

Okay Product for its price.

As usual the fit of the silicon Ear Tips aren't great, even using the largest size Ear Tip in the package, still couldn't achieve my desired amount of Passive Noise Cancelling. Benefit of doubt is that the Ear Tips aren't uncomfortable to wear after hours of period of wearing time. But I don't wear it for hours, just an hour MRT ride from East to West. So I would still prioritise good Passive Noise Cancelling over long-periods comfort. The Active Noise Cancelling is only somewhat working, you can sense a slight change in quietness, but it can still never cancel out most of the ambient sounds, be it wind noise, or surrounding people talking around you. Maybe it cancel out great in higher pitch noise like bus stopping bells, but lower pitch like human voice or wind blowing by, it did nothing much, even when listening to YouTube with ANC sitting at the front of the bus, can still hear other people talking at the back of the bus. It is like useless. In my personal opinion, Passive Noise Cancelling is bad, and Active Noise Cancelling is lousy, for the price. As for sound quality, it is nothing special for the price paid as I can get similar or better sound quality from Creative Outlier Earbuds. But the Mic Quality is good, the reason for me to upgrade from the budget Creative Outlier is because I also need the Mic functions for calling, the other party can hear me clearly on top of the surrounding noise. As for Creative Outlier Earbuds and if somebody suddenly calls you while listening to music in a noisy environment, you can might as well keep the Earbuds back in its case, and pick up the call, or if your are slow, keep the Creative Earbuds in the case and then return the call and apologise for letting the other party wait so long. Sennheiser saves you a great amount of effort answering calls. For the poor, if you only want to listen to music, this Earbuds is not worth it, might as well support our local brand. Creative Outlier sound quality is the same. Disclaimer, for sound quality, I am a metalhead, so the type of music I choose to test my Earbuds are Symphonic Metallic Music like Nightwish ands Epica, where I have huge demands in all range of tone. I need good punchy Snare Drum Bass, I need the good Sub-bass from the Bass Guitars, I need the clear vocals from Floor Jenson, and I need the lucid tone from Thomas keyboards, and yet a budget Creative Outlier can give me all that. But for those who can afford, definitely go for Sennheiser as it offers other features especially voice calling on the Mic, there is no hassle, just answer the incoming voice call and proceed to talk, the other party can hear you.
