Positives: The PXC 550 ii's power on and off by a simple twist of the ear cups. This is a very handy and convenient feature. No need to fiddle with an additional button to power these on. Just twist them and put them on. There is also a selector switch that allows one to switch the ANC modes (off/custom/full). I was able to feel and locate the switch easily and toggle it to the required mode. Finding the switch was easy and intuitive. No need to fiddle with the app to change the ANC mode. Negatives: When ANC is turned on, it gives off a faint hissing sound. It is hardly noticeable in most environments, but it is discernable in quiet environments. I was disappointed to discover that Sennheiser 550 ii's uses a white noise / hissing to mask some of the outside noise -- something that I imagined to only be used in lower-end models. Compared with the Sony MDR 1000X (the predecessor of Sony 100 XM4), the Sony's do not have a hissing noise when the ANC is turned on. Overall, I am fairly satisfied with the product. The power on and off mechanism is a welcome feature. Tactile switches are a huge plus, but the white noise/hissing that masks outside noise is a disappointment for me.
With the active noise cancelling, I can work in peace, have clarity during meetings, and even game with no disturbances.
I love the product! But right side of the head band extension alittle loose as compared to the left. Not too big of a bother, and i dont think i can get an exchange over this small flaw. But anyway, still a good product.
